Often described as ‘our new Clarice Cliff’, Emma Bailey is one of Stoke-on-Trent’s most celebrated ceramic artists. From her Middleport studio Emma uses traditional methods of on-glaze painting, the trickiest form of surface decoration, demanding perfection and skill in application.
Emma will be demonstrating her hand painting skills whilst talking about her early years in the pottery industry, how she set up her own business and the people she has collaborated with. The audience will get to ask questions and also try their hand at shading, lining or hand banding.
The event will be led by Jan Roberts, founder of Clutter & Fettle, a business that helps to promote local ceramic artists and Stoke-on-Trent’s heritage.
