Ceramic artist and master craftsman Jon French journeyed from Essex to Staffordshire at the age of sixteen to become an apprentice at Wedgwood where he worked for almost thirty years before setting up his own studio in Middleport. He now manages the Love Clay ceramics centre at Valentine Clay’s headquarters in Fenton.
Jon’s main specialities are portraits and classical scenes, although he can bring almost anything to life with a pallet and brush. He has years of experience demonstrating the skills and gifts of a master craftsman in countries worldwide.
In this entertaining talk Jon will be sharing his passion for pottery and local history whilst demonstrating his talents on the potter’s wheel.
